Celebrating Five Years of The Mandalorain 🎉
First Look at Andor Season 2
Good Morning Youtinians. Good Morning Youtinians. After last week’s news about Simon Kinberg working on a Star Wars trilogy, we asked you which project you were most excited to see. In a close vote, The Mandalorian and Grogu got almost 30% of the vote, while 25% of you are most stoked to see Rey’s film.

Picture it: The moment the Lucasfilm logo fades away to reveal red and blue character helmets and droids, the Star Wars logo we all love as we hold our collective breaths…
A gloved hand appears on the left side of the screen with what we now know as a ‘Tracking Fob’, the red light aglow in front of a cloudy sky and a grey, sandy, landscape. Cut to the full torso of the Mandalorian standing, with his cape billowing off to the left, and we exhaled. After a short walk, the cantina door opens, and the bass recorder plays those now familiar thematic notes.
So began the journey to an amazing, thrilling, and totally awesome three seasons (three and a half if you count The Book of Boba Fett) of must-see television for fans of a galaxy far, far away.
Read it: Our friends at Vanity Fair caught up with the incredible Pedro Pascal in an interview in May 2022, where he reminisced on being told he was to play an original Star Wars character in a brand new made-for-TV series. His reaction is now legend, and as we celebrate five years since the premiere, it is only fitting for us to read these iconic reflections:
“I got a call from John Favreau to come and speak with him about something Star Wars, which is as much information as you get.”
“Basically, we go in, and then he (Favreau) takes me into this conference room. And there’s Dave Filoni, sitting with this cowboy hat. All four walls are, corner to corner, covered in illustrations of the entire first season of the show.”
“I just saw the creature, and my heart melted, and I understood. I was like, ‘You guys know people are going to lose their minds when they see that?’”
Reveal it: For all the hype about seeing a character connected to Jango and Boba Fett brought to the fandom, and the amazing details surrounding the Mandalorian creed and the Siege of Mandalore already in print and The Clone Wars series, the reveal that stole the show was the moment that the ‘crib’ opened and a little hand/claw reached up to touch the finger of Din Djarin. After this, the entire landscape of our galaxy underwent a seismic shift to ‘Baby Yoda,’ and the last five years have seen every manner of merch celebrate the cute and cuddly little Grogu.
Connect it: Now, five years later, we have seen teaser footage from D23, and the Star Wars world once again holds its breath as we await the release of more footage and trailers from the highly anticipated movie The Mandalorian and Grogu. What we have seen is AWESOME, and with the partnership of Favreau, Filoni, and Pascal together again, this new movie cannot come quickly enough!
Watch it: Now is the time to rewatch the entire series. Before the release of Skeleton Crew, treat yourself to some cozy nights at home with popcorn and blue milk in hand as you relive the ground-breaking moments from The Mandalorian.
We’re all fine here now — how are you? As you watch and reflect on the series, jump on Discord and share your favorite characters, places, missions, and moments with us. We would also love to see what you think the new Mandalorian movie will bring the fandom. Sign in, and we’ll read you there!

First Look at Andor Season 2!

Disney+ has a lot of great-looking content coming in 2025, and they just dropped a two-minute teaser showing off a few clips from Andor Season 2, along with some glimpses of Skeleton Crew.
Featured Moments: The Disney+ YouTube channel dropped the 2025 sizzle reel on November 12.
Cassian has multiple appearances throughout the reel, but one of the most exciting scenes seems to show him stealing a ship that some fans think may be a TIE Avenger.
Alongside Cassian, we also got our first look at Bix and Luthen this season, as well as K2SO!
About 1:30 into the reel, we see Cassian firing into a group of stormtroopers. Some fans theorize that this event could be the Gorman Massacre, which several characters mention in the animated series Rebels.
Andor Season 2: Even though we won’t see Andor Season 2 on our screens until next year, we know at least a little about it now!
Season 2 is expected to premiere on Disney+ on April 22, 2025.
This season will contain twelve episodes — the same as the first season — covering four arcs.
There will be a time jump of one year between each arc, which means that this season alone will show us four years of Cassian’s life leading up to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
We're all fine here now — how are you? We will keep covering each reveal for the next season of Andor here in the Youtini Dispatch. But you can also get Eric’s take on all Star Wars news on YouTube!

Much like the Kiners, composing for Star Wars also runs in the Giacchinos family. This week, we learned Mick Giacchino is handling the score for Skeleton Crew, following in the footsteps of his father, Michael, who scored Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Star Wars Outlaws has earned three nominations for the 10th Annual Game Awards, including one for Humberly Gonzalez for best performance! Voting is open now, with winners announced on December 12.
