Andor Season 2 Character Reveals 😱
Inside the lore of The Acolyte so far
Good Morning Youtinians. Last week, we asked if you planned to watch the second season of Young Jedi Adventures. In a narrow majority, 44% of voters expected to watch the new season. Some of us at Youtini are excited about the expansion of this show and continue to encourage you to give it a shot, especially for the padawan viewers. #NubsNation

Information regarding the upcoming Season 2 of Andor is upon us, especially in the form of interviews with the actors, writers, and directors involved, and it is building up to reveal one hell of a season! Filming finished in February 2024, with an Instagram post from Diego Luna celebrating the occasion
The season will drop in 2025, with Tony Gilroy again at the forefront of the writing. In an interview with Deadline, he confirmed, “When we come back later, it’ll be literally like Friday, Saturday, Sunday. And then, we’ll jump a year, and then it'll be, like, four or five days, and then we’ll jump a year, and then it’ll be four or five days, and then we jump a year, and be another four or five days”. Ultimately, the end of Season 2 will dovetail beautifully into Gareth Edwards’ 2016 Rogue One film.
So, as we begin to get excited for Andor Season 2, here is some key information we should consider mixed with some speculation!
Krennic and Gerrera are back, baby! Diego Luna teased fans at the ACE Superhero Comic Con that “There will be characters that you recognize” in the second season. This was echoed by filmmaker Alonso Ruizpalacios, credited director of the last three episodes of the new season, in an interview with The Playlist, where we learned he had directed “Stellan Skarsgard, Forest Whitaker, and Ben Mendelsohn.” We already know Luthen would be key, but Saw Gerrera and Orson Krennic - AWESOME!
Possible Cameos: Many amazing characters from the post-Episode III and pre-Episode IV era could appear in Season 2.
The Ghost Crew: With a brief mention of Hera in Rogue One and a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo of Chopper, some of the ghost crew appearing in the second season is not off the table.
Ahsoka: With Cassian taking up the name Fulcrum, the possibility of the original Fulcrum agent being mentioned or appearing is very possible.
Thrawn: Could the Chiss cross paths with Tarkin or Krennic as he climbs the Imperial ranks?
Season 2 Storylines: There are the obvious questions that the Andor Season 1 cliff-hanger left us considering, like Mon Mothma’s journey, Luthen’s destiny, Syril’s future, and Andor’s promotion to Captain; however, let’s take a moment to ponder some stories that would be just amazing to see play out:
K2’s Origin: The show originally pitched to include this story. The story has been told in the 2017 Rogue One - Cassian & K-2SO Special 1, but retelling is very likely as we get closer to the events of Rogue One
The Alliance Roundtable: We saw her speech in Rebels uniting the Rebel cells but how exactly did Mon Mothma end up standing at the Rogue One briefing table with no less than four other senators: Organa, Pamlo, Vaspar, and Jebel?
Cassian: What and who did Cassian step over or eliminate to justify the claim, “We’ve all done terrible things on behalf of the Rebellion. Spies. Saboteurs. Assassins.” The events of the season will bridge the gap from the Cassian we saw in Season 1 to the cold-hearted agent at the beginning of Rogue One.
We're all fine here now — how are you? Has this sparked a flame of excitement for you? The Lore of The Acolyte So Far
The Acolyte has released five episodes, with three more still to go — and one coming tonight! We’ve gotten so much lore in the last few weeks that calls to mind so many great Sith, Jedi, and Padawan characters of both Legends and Canon. What have we seen in The Acolyte so far?
Mother Aniseya and Her Coven: Mother Aniseya is one of the mothers of Osha and Mae, who were both born through magic and without a father. When this bit of information dropped in Episode 3, “Destiny,” we couldn’t help but think of the Jedi Order’s Chosen One, who was meant to bring balance to the Force: Anakin Skywalker. Mother Aniseya's power, both through her use of dark magic and through the Force, is incredible, and it’s easy to see that power flow directly through to her daughters.
The Sith and The Acolyte: There is so much speculation online right now about whether the Dark Side Force user — lovingly called Darth Teeth by fans but known as The Stranger in the credits — is actually a Sith or is some other kind of dark side adept. With the cult-like vibes of the Path of the Open Hand from Phase II of The High Republic and the magic of Mother Aniseya’s coven, it’s clear that the Jedi are not the only group that reveres the Force in the galaxy during this era. But is Darth Teeth a Sith Lord? Or is he a Sith Apprentice, hoping to seduce Mae into killing his own master with their shared power? Or is he just a rogue Force user out to cause as much death and destruction as possible?
The Barash Vow: In Episode 2, “Revenge/Justice,” we watched as Mae went after her next mark, Jedi Master Torbin, who had taken the Barash Vow and had not spoken a word or come out of an intense meditation for many years. However, Master Torbin is not the first Jedi to take the Barash vow: Charles Soule created the concept for his Darth Vader (2017) run. In Soule’s comic, Master Kirak Infil’a took the vow after escaping the malicious chaos of Order 66, dedicating as much time as it took to meditating on what he should do next, much like Master Torbin.
We're all fine here now — how are you? We have been absolutely obsessed with The Acolyte so far, and we still have so many questions about its characters and their paths ahead. If you’d like to talk about the show with like-minded fans, join the Younited Discord!
