🎬Surprise Movie News!
D23 wraps in Brazil and a new Audible Original
Good Morning Youtinians. Last week, we invited you to speculate about Jude Law’s character in the upcoming series Skeleton Crew. Most of you (57%) think he’ll be a Force user of some kind, but not with ties to the Jedi Order. The other three choices (Jedi, fallen Jedi, or something else entirely) split the remaining votes. We’ll find out soon!

Simon Says: Make A Trilogy!

In an unexpected reveal, Deadline dropped the news that more Star Wars movies are coming! Perhaps not surprisingly, Lucasfilm or Disney has no official word yet. Nevertheless, the word of more movies than we are already expecting makes for very exciting news! The fact that reporting so far has connected Simon Kinberg to this project is just icing on the Wampa!
So, let’s break it down:
Who Is Simon Kinbeg? Kinberg is a British-born American filmmaker who studied at Brown and Columbia Universities, where he excelled at screenwriting.
He has experience producing for big franchises, including Marvel.
Kinberg has received nominations for Producers Guild of America, Critics’ Choice, and National Board of Review awards. He won a Golden Globe Award for The Martian and a Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Deadpool.
Interestingly, he has also worked previously with Samuel L. Jackson and Hayden Christensen and has been linked with Lawrence Kasdan, the writer of Episode V and Episode VI.
What Has He Done? He has worked alongside the legendary Dave Filoni and Carrie Beck as a producer, creator, and writer on all four seasons of Star Wars Rebels.
He also has consulting credits on Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.
Other works of his that you may have seen include Fox’s X-Men films, Logan, and Jumper.
Earlier this year, Variety also reported he was in talks to produce a movie in the Star Trek universe.
What We Could Expect? Kinberg will develop the trilogy and be given writing and producing credit. Here are some of our favorite ideas so far:
A potential follow-up to the nine Skywalker films, with Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's upcoming Rey movie serving as a link (or perhaps a collaboration to lead off the trilogy).
He already knows the adventures of Ezra, Hera, and company. Could his trilogy bring Kanan Jarrus to the silver screen?
A trilogy featuring characters from the period between Episode VI and Episode VII, potentially alongside other movies already pitched for development.
The Deadline article cites sources claiming the new trilogy will carry the story forward from the Skywalker saga but notes that insiders claim it will break fresh ground and tell an all-new story. Additional reporting from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter also points to something entirely new. Kathleen Kennedy has commented about future Star Wars projects exploring beyond George Lucas's original vision, so Kinberg's trilogy might be something we haven't even begun to imagine! The possibilities are as endless as the Force is strong!

Star Wars Story #2

D23 Brazil has now come and gone. We are left with some awesome answers, some titillating morsels to speculate and dream over, and some teasers that we cannot wait to see! Let us fill you in:
Andor branding: First in a series of exciting Andor updates, the title has been updated to read Andor: A Star Wars Story, bringing the series in line with Solo and Rogue One, even though it is not a movie. Cool!
Dates announced: Two important dates were confirmed:
Andor: A Star Wars Story Season 2 will premiere on April 22, 2025—the perfect lead-up to May 4 celebrations!
The Mandalorian and Grogu will open on May 22, 2026. Mark your calendar, put in for time off, and lock this date in for a MASSIVE event!
A sneak peek: Hats off to our very lucky friends who attended D23 in person, as they were very, very fortunate to see a new sneak peek of Andor: A Star Wars Story Season 2, with the scene set by the awesome B2-EMO, the droid of Cassian’s adopted mother, Maarva (who can forget that AWESOME hologram at her funeral!!) Disney also dropped a new image (via #theswu) of Cassian in more formal attire.
An action-packed scene: Those in attendance also witnessed an entire scene from Star Wars: Skeleton Crew that will not be released online. The hype is growing around this new series.
So, now we eagerly await Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 for our next big opportunity to see teasers and hear all the biggest Star Wars news! And, of course, Youtini will see you there!
New High Republic-Era Audible Original Announced!

In just two short days, we will have an unexpected addition to our High Republic-era publishing lineup in the form of a brand-new Audible Original.
What We Know: On November 14th, we will get a brand new book set in the High Republic era featuring a few new characters who already have their own concept art!
Much like Bryan Q Miller’s Padawan’s Pride, George Mann’s The High Republic: Seeds of Starlight is an Audible Original audiobook that will be free to Audible customers.
This audiobook, narrated by Todd Haberkorn, is set on the oceanic world of Eiram and revolves around the mysterious disappearances of several citizens near Starlight Beacon’s final resting place.
One Jedi Master and three Padawans have been sent to Eiram to get to the bottom of the mystery. However, they suddenly face a much bigger problem than anyone could have anticipated!
The High Republic: As we all know, the High Republic publishing initiative will conclude next year, so this announcement is very exciting.
Two novels connected to The Acolyte will hit shelves in 2025.
A sequel to Seeds of Starlight is also due out in 2025.
Combined, these four "surprise" titles are the only ones from this era outside the integrated multimedia publishing initiative.
We love to hear this because it shows that these authors are still interested in exploring this golden era even after Charles Soule’s The High Republic: Trials of the Jedi hits bookstore shelves next June.
We're all fine here now — how are you? The era of the High Republic seems to be going strong, and we couldn’t be happier about it. If you feel the same way, be sure to check out the Youtini Canon Book Club’s episodes on each new release!

🚀 Ready for Dispatch
Iron Studios has announced a beautifully detailed 1/10 statue of Luke and Leia. The piece brings the iconic 1977 poster into three dimensions. It’s available for digital preorder now, with delivery expected in third quarter 2025.
Ubisoft has released a new update for Star Wars Outlaws that includes big changes for stealth, speeder travel, and more. Their biggest update yet is due on November 21st.
There’s been a lot to love with the Essential Legends Collection. Here at Youtini, one of our favorite aspects of the reprint campaign has been the release of unabridged audiobooks for titles that previously only had abridged versions. The latest one, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, written by Sean Williams and narrated by the legendary Marc Thomson, released last week.
