New Skeleton Crew Trailer Reveals! 🎥
What Will We Learn From D23 in Brazil?
Good Morning Youtinians. Last week, we asked you which Skeleton Crew character you were most excited to see. Neel is the favorite pick, with 52% of the vote. Of course, Jude Law is in it, too, and his character, Jod Na Nawood is in second place with almost a quarter of you voting for him.

Awesome Skeleton Crew Reveals!

In a week where scary human skeletons adorned fences, doors, and bodies of sweet-craving young (and old) treaters, the real skeleton news was from the new series about to drop in less than a month!
Yes, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has dropped three super-exciting updates for our fandom to celebrate, and each is as cool as the next!
The Totally Terrific Trailer: The official, new, full trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has been released worldwide, and this trailer is AWESOME! Even after the tenth viewing, it leaves us super excited for this new kids series. So, let's break down the highlights:
Naughty but nice? We see Fern and Wim sitting outside what could be the Principal’s Office at school. They have clearly done something wrong, and Fern appears to be the rebel. Meanwhile, the soundtrack is sooooo 80s!
Finding the ship: Following Wim, we then get a look inside the newest addition to Star Wars spacecraft: the Onyx Cinder.
I am your father! Then we have a sequence of moments where a very controlling, overbearing, and strict father disciplines Wim with obvious disappointment at his choices. Tricky father relations are a Star Wars favorite, and this tough parenting leads to Wim's desire to get away.
Hyped up hyper-space! The Onyx Cinder jumps, and the remainder of the trailer shows amazing places, planets, people, and missions for the young travelers. Amid flashes of Jod, SM-33, pirates, and invaders, what grabbed us was the hologram of a Senator (or perhaps Jedi?) figure who states, “If you hear this, don’t give up. No matter what.”
A Picture-Perfect Poster: The official poster's art is stunning!
We see our four young explorers framed by Kim and SM-33, the Onyx Cinder, and X-Wings.
Above this are the figures of Jod, Pirate Captain Brutus, and the Senator/Jedi.
A really cool touch is the inferred tatty edges of the poster, as though it’s been on our walls since the 80s!
An Intellectual Interview: We also hope you have caught up with the interview our friends at StarWars.com did with creators Jon Watts and Chris Ford.
The creators take into their thought processes and share the influences that helped them develop the series.
Watts and Ford talk about all things Skeleton Crew and where this series fits in our galaxy far, far, away!
We’re all fine here now - how are you? The tantalizing combination of Amblin-like story-telling and Star Wars Lore has created a real buzz around Skeleton Crew. Let us know your thoughts on the trailer by joining our Discord chats now! Meanwhile, it’s time to speculate about Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood. Is he:

The Soundtrack Legend!

Disney+ dropped the new John Williams documentary this week, and it is a must-see, must-hear celebration of the man who put the music behind some of the greatest stories of all time. Williams, now entering his ninth decade, has his moment in the spotlight, and no one so thoroughly deserves it than this musical maestro!
Moving Moments and Amazing Tributes: The documentary includes glowing testimonies from some luminary figures people:
Steven Speilberg: “It’s the purest form of art I have ever experienced from any human being." We see THE piano that, once upon a time at Fox Studios and with two notes, birthed one of the most famous themes in history: Jaws!
George Lucas: “Johnny played it for me on the piano ... I truly believe that the soundtrack is half of the movie.” The Star Wars soundtrack album went platinum with over one million album sales. (Also, “Johnny?”)
JJ Abrams: “I would put on the soundtracks and stare at the album cover and just listen to the scores and play the movie in my head.”
Overall, we feel it's an absolute must to watch and soak up the legendary ability of the iconic composer. It's an incredible insight into how he created, his inspirations, his life, and his love of all things Star Wars. At just over an hour, this documentary simply astounds and we love every second.
We’re all fine here now - how are you? Jump onto Discord and let us know your favorite moments of this documentary! We'd love to hear your thoughts.
D23 Brazil — A Disney Experience Kicks off This Week

Later this week, Disney’s D23 convention will open in Brazil on November 8th. This marks the first time the event, which runs through the 10th, will occur in South America. Fan sites, YouTube channels, and podcasts are buzzing with excitement and speculation!
What is D23? D23, or, more formally, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, is the Walt Disney Company’s official fan organization.
The organization holds a large convention called “D23: The Ultimate Fan Event” every other year (formerly known as the D23 Expo).
The event offers fans the latest news from Disney’s parks and resorts, Pixar, Marvel, and, of course, Star Wars!
Previous locations include Anaheim, California; Orlando, Florida; and Tokyo, Japan. In 2021, the event was hosted online. Disney also held a D23 event this past August in Anaheim.
D23 and Star Wars: After Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, D23 has often featured exciting news from a galaxy far, far away. Over the years, it’s been right up there with big comic cons like San Diego and New York, and it's just behind Star Wars Celebration for big reveals.
Lucasfilm’s first appearance was at 2013’s D23, the first one held after the purchase.
2015’s event included a look ahead to Episode VII: The Force Awakens and the very first announcement for what would become Galaxy’s Edge.
Later expos have included video game reveals, behind-the-scenes footage of upcoming projects, and more.
What Do We Expect? Official news from the D23 website recently announced a Star Wars-themed laser maze, activities related to The Mandalorian and Skeleton Crew, video game news, and limited edition merchandise. Of course, that hasn’t stopped Star Wars fans from floating ideas about what else we might learn!
Skeleton Crew debuts on Disney+ in less than a month, so this event represents the last big opportunity for hype!
With The Mandalorian and Grogu now in production, an update on that project seems likely. Do we dare hope for some footage or behind-the-scenes looks?
The second season of Andor is due to debut in the first quarter of 2025. Lucasfilm gave us a tease at Celebration London last year and unveiled a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel in August.

🚀 Ready for Dispatch
Lucasfilm’s executive design director Doug Chiang has teamed up with Columbia to design a new NASCAR paint scheme, driver’s helmet, and racing suit inspired by Darth Vader.
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been five years since the first live-action Star Wars TV series came into our homes. Where were you were you when you first saw the Mandalorian’s bounty? Some on our team and our community have been rewatching the first season to celebrate and reminisce. If you have too, join the conversation in our Discord!
Speaking of milestones, Cavan Scott recently announced that this week he will finish the first draft for his final High Republic issue for Marvel. What a run it’s been!
