New Star Wars Museum Announced! 🌟
Publishing news from New York Comic Con
Good Morning Youtinians. Last week, we told you about Ewan McGregor’s hope to continue playing Obi-Wan Kenobi and asked which Star Wars show you’d most like to see continue. Most of you agreed with Ewan, as Obi-Wan Kenobi led voting.

In some of the most exciting news to hit the Star Wars fandom in years, we recently learned of the Saga Museum of Star Wars Memorabilia. Expected to be open to the public, the collection will allow us to immerse ourselves in the real, tactile side of our favorite galaxy. Just imagine props and products we would love to own and available to see all in one place!
What has happened? On October 5, 2024, at a fundraising event hosted by Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP), Steve Sansweet of Rancho Obi-Wan announced plans for a massive all-in-one Star Wars museum.
What is it? The will combine the world's four largest Star Wars collections and house them in a new, custom-designed space. In the words of our friends at Rancho Obi-Wan, “This new museum is for everyone who has ever felt inspired by Star Wars and its continuing legacy. It will be a place where the creative minds of tomorrow can come and dream.”
Plans so far include:
200,000 square feet of space, including permanent and rotating exhibits, and a 300-seat theater.
A general store, café restaurant, event facilities, and a research center.
An educational academy, meeting and conference rooms, indoor community spaces, and outdoor and rooftop gathering spaces.
Who is in on it? The Saga Museum team includes the owners of the four largest Star Wars memorabilia collections:
Steve Sansweet (Rancho Obi-Wan)
Gus Lopez (Bobacabana)
Duncan Jenkins (The Sithsonian)
Lisa Stevens and Vic Wertz (Imperial Archives)
What can WE do? The Saga Museum is launching as a nonprofit and is calling out to the fandom for support in realizing the dream.

One of the year's best events for Star Wars fans happened this past weekend — the New York Comic Con! As always, the Star Wars publishing panel brought many exciting new announcements.
The High Republic Phase III: Much of the weekend’s news centered around the final phase remaining in The High Republic publishing initiative.
Concept art for Cavan Scott’s upcoming audio drama, Tempest Runner, featuring Marchion Ro and Lourna Dee locked in a dance.
Avar Kriss, Elzar Mann, Bell Zettifar, Burryaga, and Azlin Rell showing off some of the most sleek Jedi armor we’ve ever seen.
Stunning covers for Justina Ireland’s middle-grade novel, A Valiant Vow, and Claudia Gray’s young adult novel, Into the Light.
News Around The Acolyte: With Disney canceling The Acolyte, fans were concerned about the two tie-in novels that had already been announced, but we no longer need to worry. Reveals included the title and cover of Tessa Gratton’s young adult novel, The Crystal Crown, which will tell a story centered on Jedi Knight Yord Fandar and Jedi Padawan Jecki Lon.
Star Wars Comic Reveals: A Star Wars publishing panel wouldn’t be complete without some news on the comic front as well.
Several cover reveals for upcoming issues set within the High Republic era — including an issue of The High Republic (2025) with Kelnacca on the cover.
Marc Guggenheim will bring us a new series next year following the individual stories of some of the Prequel era Order’s Jedi Knights! Each issue of Guggenheim’s Star Wars: Jedi Knights will focus on a particular Jedi before the events of The Phantom Menace.
We're all fine here now — how are you? With all the reveals at New York Comic Con, it definitely looks like 2025 will be a great year for Star Wars publishing, and we can’t wait to enjoy all the stories that still lie ahead!
