The highly anticipated Star Wars series The Acolyte finally premiered on Disney+ with the release of its first two episodes last week. Fans are already buzzing about the gripping storyline and rich character development, and we are anxiously awaiting the third episode, which will air this Tuesday at 9 PM ET.

The Details: The Acolyte takes us back to the High Republic era, a golden age for the Jedi, approximately 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace. The series introduces us to Osha, a former Jedi Padawan turned assassin, who becomes entangled in a complex murder mystery that pits her against her former mentors and the Jedi Order.

  • Episode 1: "Lost/Found" - The series starts with the shocking murder of a Jedi Master on a remote planet. Osha, the prime suspect, is captured and taken on a perilous journey to Coruscant, only to find herself embroiled in a daring struggle and the reveal of her tragic past.

  • Episode 2: "Revenge/Justice" - The tension escalates as another Jedi Master is targeted, setting the stage for a solid “whodunit” story set in the Star Wars universe that subverts expectations.

Behind the Scenes: The series not only captivates with its storyline but also impresses with its detailed costume design. Costume designer Jennifer Bryan has masterfully blended elements from various historical warrior cultures with classic Star Wars aesthetics to create unique, authentic looks for the characters.

Big Picture: There’s something special about the weekly release of new Star Wars content, and the fandom is alive with break-downs, deep dives, and a celebration of a new era in storytelling.
