Surprise Audio Short Story Released

Good Morning, Youtinians. Last week, we asked if you were excited about and wanted a season two of Obi-Wan Kenobi. An astounding 87.9% responded with yes that they wanted a second season for the show. Currently, it looks like it isn’t happening, but we can hope for more adventures with the great Jedi Master.

There are a ton of October Star Wars releases that we’re looking forward to! Here are the top 3 we can’t wait to get our hands on:

  • The Battle of Jakku: Insurgency Rising #1 by Alex Segura, Leonard Kirk, and Stefano Raffaele: The newest era of focus for Star Wars comics is almost upon us! This first issue of The Battle of Jakku: Insurgency Rising will hit comic store shelves on October 2nd and will kick off the post-Return of the Jedi storytelling for Luke and Leia as they attempt to finish off the last remnants of the Empire and breathe life and order into the New Republic in a galaxy still on the verge of collapse. With Vader and Palpatine both defeated at this point, we can’t wait to see a new mysterious Imperial villain take shape in this maxi-series.

  • The Secrets of the Clone Troopers by Marc Sumarek: This in-universe reference book holds incredible illustrations, a poster of the cover drawn by Alberto Buscicchio, and tons of interesting lore surrounding our favorite clones. Check your library or local bookstore on October 8th to unlock the secrets of Captain Rex, the Bad Batch — including Omega! — Commander Cody and more.

  • Mace Windu: The Glass Abyss by Steven Barnes: We’re taking a short break from The High Republic Phase III next month with this brand new adult novel that chronicles Mace Windu’s dangerous mission to fulfill Qui-Gon Jinn’s final request. This book will be available on October 15th. We genuinely cannot wait to see how Mace’s complicated history with Qui-Gon plays into his feelings and actions after the Jedi Master’s brutal death at the hands of Darth Maul. Check out the Youtini Canon Book Club’s podcast episode on The Glass Abyss on November 12th!

We're all fine here now — how are you? These are just a few of the Star Wars reads we can’t wait to check out next month. Take a look at the Youtini Release Schedule to stay up to date on all things Star Wars publishing!

New Additions to LEGO Star Wars Lineup

The humble LEGO brick. The wonder of the click as two snap together. The beauty of dots pressed into your fingers. The joy of sitting back and wondering how that Star Wars frigate, ship, character, diorama, helmet, or weapon could possibly be broken down into so many amazingly and beautifully constructed parts. These are just some of the reasons why we at Youtini just cannot get enough of the super-addictive, awesomely cool LEGO Star Wars creations.

Add Two More: We at Youtini are ALWAYS SO EXCITED when our friends over in Denmark drop one or, in this case, two new Star Wars builds. Here are the two newest sets to add to our beautifully burgeoning collections:

  1. The Khetanna - Jabba’s Sail Barge - This new set is the ultimate in LEGO craftsmanship with 3,942 pieces and 11 awesome minifigs. The Barge is a must-have addition to the Ultimate Collection Series (UCS) and celebrates 25 years of the LEGO/Star Wars partnership. Pre-order now for an October 6 release (or October 3 for the lucky LEGO Insiders).

  2. Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber - This kit of 145 pieces is a buildable, highly detailed recreation of the famous saber Luke used in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. We know that this is the saber constructed by Luke as his journey to becoming a Jedi nears its completion and is the one that he famously uses to strike down his father aboard the second Death Star. This life-size model comes with a stand and nameplate for easy display in your collection and looks just awesome!

What’s Up For 2025: The latest speculation on the Web for Star Wars LEGO sets possibly coming in 2025 include a buildable Star Wars logo, Jango Fett’s helmet, Chopper, Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor; an ARC-170 starfighter; Grogu and his pram; the Acclamator; Home One; Din Djarin’s N-1 Starfighter; and possible sets or minifigs from The Acolyte. Should this become a reality, we are in for some awesome building days and sore fingers in 2025!

We’re all fine here now - how are you? We all have favorite LEGO sets and minifigs, or even better, ideas for Star Wars LEGO sets that have not been produced or released yet. What are some of your ideas for future sets and let us know if you collect LEGO.

Surprise New Audio Short Story Released

On September 19, Star Wars fans woke up to the surprise release of an Audible Original short story, Padawan’s Pride, by Bryan Q. Miller, narrated by Kevin Kemp. The story focuses on Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi three years after The Phantom Menace.

Description: “When a Republic spy goes missing on the Moons of Varl, the Jedi Council asks Obi-Wan and Anakin to infiltrate an underground podracing circuit run by a crime boss believed to be holding the spy prisoner. With Anakin posing as a hotshot racer and Obi-Wan as his attendant, tensions between the two threaten to run even higher than usual.

But when Obi-Wan is forced to leave Varl, Anakin is on his own as he faces a series of increasingly treacherous races that will determine his fate—and that of the spy.

Master and apprentice must use all their Jedi skills in this action-packed tale of cutthroat competition, deadly deception, and, ultimately, what it means to be a Padawan.”

Cost: Free with an Audible membership or $16 USD. You can support Youtini and get a free trial by signing up here.

What’s to Come: The metadata for Padawan’s Pride lists it as part of a series. This hints at more of these coming, but it has yet to be officially confirmed.

We’re all fine here now - how are you? Be on the lookout for coverage from The Youtini Canon Book Club shortly. Have you listened to this story or plan to? If you have, let us know what you think.
